After earning a bachelor’s and master’s in music, Laura “Leaux” Dyer discovered that she’d always wanted to be a hairstylist. Starting behind the chair in Minnesota salons, Leaux relocated to NYC and spent a decade as a national and international educator for Kérastase and Shu Uemura (L’Oreal). Now an IATSE Local 798 hairstylist, she loves working on set for television and film and can accommodate any hair type and curl pattern.
Leaux has been consistently active with New York Fashion Week. First as an assistant to renowned stylist Odile Gilbert for Rachel Zoe, Thakoon, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Rodarte, Rebecca Minkoff, and Jason Wu, Leaux then led hair teams for presentations by Romona Keveža and Zac Posen. She has worked with designers such as Giorgio Armani, Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Christian Siriano, Romeo Hunte, Badgley Mischka, Carolina Herrera, Alice + Olivia, Staud, and Monique Lhullier.
Published in TIME Magazine, The New York Times,Vogue Italia, Backstage, and Brides, Leaux has also styled for The Grammys, The Tony Awards, The VMAs, the Twyla Tharp Dance Foundation, feature and indie films, and press events for Broadway productions of Hadestown, School of Rock, and Macbeth.
Commercial clientele have included ESPN (Disney), Cakes Body, FanDuel, HBO, Mercedes, Raising Fame (TV One), Galia Lahav, Henry Schein, Mastercard, Conair, and Lancôme.
Based in the NYC/New England area, Leaux is available to travel and work on location worldwide.
